Welcome to Catholic Citizenship

Please join us as we take up
the Catholic Bishops challenge for all American Catholics to exercise 'Faithful Citizenship' by
becoming politically involved and informed citizens. Our goal is to see campaigns organized
by parish instead of precinct; voting Catholic first and Party second.
Catholics are 65 million strong in the United States. With almost a quarter of the US population,
Catholics make up the largest religious voting bloc in the country. However, in recent years,
we have seen increasing division amongst how Catholics vote or apathy towards the political
process altogether. Millions of Catholic Americans do not even register to vote.
We at Catholic Citizenship seek to change this. Our goal is to promote both education and involvement
in the political process. Ideally, we seek to get to the point where all candidates are pro-life, pro-family and promote
policies to alleviate the suffering of our poorest citizens. When Catholic citizens become unified
and committed to these issues, above any party loyalty or special interests, then all candidates
for public office will compete for our vote.
We will identify one Public Policy Advocate per parish who will organize a team to help
communicate and carry out this mission. Thereby, Catholic Citizenship will establish a network of informed and
politically active Catholic citizens in each and every parish throughout the nation.
Politicians respond best to their local constituents - the people who vote for or against them.
Utilizing the internet, the Catholic Citizenship network will be able to interact more effectively
with our public officials. Thus, when vital issues arise, our network will be prepared to provide an
immediate response to legislators - on the state or national level - and thereby more effectively
strengthen the Catholic influence in the political process.
Join us as we let our political representatives hear our voice from the State House to
the White House. As our organization grows parish by parish, we call all Catholics to the
responsibility of our faith and the duty of our citizenship.
Together, let us build a stronger nation for the common good of all.
