Britain Without Churches

“Can you imagine for one moment what England would have been like today without those churches and all that those churches mean? …
“Certainly it would not have been safe to walk the streets. All respect, decency, all those things which tend to make modern civilization what it is would not have been in existence. You can imagine what we should have had to pay for our police, for lunatic asylums, for criminal asylums.”

— Duke of Devonshire, 1800s, quoted in God Is Back by John Micklethwait and Adrian Wooldridge

Having visited Manchester England where the riots were very bad every six or seven weeks due my mum living there untill she died 4 weeks ago, one could see this happening due to

    I. So many unmarried mums, boys have no father figure.
    2. They are a pagan, secular society, all the teenagers have no respect for the parents, Police and anyone in authority, a bit like the two women on the Dr. Phil show the other morning, everything had to be there way and if one got in the way they would punch one in the face, kick etc. Imagine this attitude by a a coupe of thousand and what have you got anarchy.
    3. They are not brought up God Fearing or even to know about God, there is nothing in there lives except drink, and more drink, I dont know have they even heard the name God-Jesus, this is why you had the riots, everything is done for a kick, hate law and order, police , dont know anything or taught anything about God, so its do your own thing.

    3. Worse still is there Police which is not there fault they can only go by the laws set by the Government, there have been cases of teenagers getting into trouble, mugging, house theft, and when the go to Court the Judge sends them for Driving lessons, or Safari holidays as they say they come from a deprieved background, the law is a joke, one only has to watch some of the Enlgish programmes on television to see how the English police respond, lock them up for a night and let them out the following morning with “dont be bold and behave yourself” softly, softly approach and the next night they are doing the same thing again, no firm hand, I think we need the American Police to show the English Police “How’s it done”.

“There is no country in the whole world in which the Christian religion retains a greater influence over the souls of men than in America, and there can be no greater proof of its utility, and of its conformity to human nature, than that its influence is most powerfully felt over the most enlightened and free nation of the earth. The Americans combine the notions of Christianity and of liberty so intimately in their minds, that it is impossible to make them conceive the one without the other.” — 1835, Frenchman Alexis de Tocqueville in the book “Democracy in America”
