CatholicVote blogger interviewed by Al Jazeera on the Ryan budget

Stephen White is a fellow in the Catholic Studies Program at the Ethics and Public Policy Center — and a blogger here at CatholicVote. He was invited to a discussion on the Ryan budget by — of all places — Al Jazeera. They also noted a recent campaign started by American sisters called Nuns on a Bus who are travelling across the country to oppose Paul Ryan’s budget.

Host Shihab Rattansi had a conversation with Stephen White and John Gehring of Faith in Public Life and Sister Marie Lucey of the Franciscan Action Network. Steve was outnumbered 2 to 1, but did an excellent job explaining the importance of reforming the government’s health care plan for senior citizens.

  1. Joe M says:

When the costs of entitlement programs cause there to be more unemployed and poor people, it is no longer operating as a safety net. It’s robbing Peter to pay Paul.

  2. Catholic grandmother says:

Leave your hands off my children’s Medicare. I pay taxes too.
