In Egypt, Christians and Muslims take turns defending each other

This is so inspirational – a true example of ecumenism and solidarity between faiths in action:

“Depicted in this photo, an image from an anonymous source on the ground in Egypt, is a team of Egyptian Christians forming a massive human shield to protect their Muslim countrymen as they prayed during the violent protests yesterday. Beauty amid the chaos.” – GOOD.is

And then….

“Sunday, the Muslims returned the favor. They surrounded Christians celebrating Mass in Cairo’s central plaza, ground zero for the secular pro-democracy protests reverberating throughout the Middle East.” -NYDailyNews

Christians and Muslims can stand together to oppose tyranny, promote freedom, and fight for basic human rights.

These elements of freedom and respect between peoples are the ripe soil for conversion. Let us pray for those suffering in Egypt, both Christian and Muslim.
