Just a clarification

Last week Steve Skojec wrote an article where he basically said he’s holding his nose and voting for Mitt Romney. Today, Tom Crowe wrote an article saying not only that Catholic can vote for Romney, but that they ought to.

I think both of these articles present good arguments and both authors were being honest about the importance of forming our conscience with the Church’s teachings before we cast our ballot.

For clarity, I wanted to remind our dedicated readership that each author on the CV blog represents his own opinion and not necessarily the opinion of CatholicVote.org.

And while I’m making this announcement, it’s worth taking a minute to make another note. We are just days away from an important election. A lot is riding on the outcome. But we all must remember to conduct ourselves with civility.

In other words, stay away from that Caps Lock button.

“But we all must remember to conduct ourselves with civility.” Easier said than done! As long as we have trolls coming in here openly disrespecting bloggers, participants, the Catholic Church, etc, I, at least, will be tempted to react and I don’t always do so charitably!

For the sake of Clarity, there is nothing on CV that is Catholic by any stretch of the imagination.
And who really cares what Tom Crowe – the website administrator for a thrid rate Catholic Univerisity thinks about politics or what a Catholic can or should do.
Joshua – this seems to be a failed experiement.

For the sake of clarity, when one does not agree with CV’s positions, one hurls insults calling this site anything but Catholic and, of course, a troll can’t possibly not be tempted to excoriate and hurl insults at Tom Crowe for having the temerity to express his opinion from time to time, although the writer of this post is Joshua Mercer.

Tom Crowe is a better Catholic than 99% of people who CALL themselves “Catholic” will ever be.

  3. “a lot” is a piece of land, not a unit of measurement.

A Lot is also an upright gentleman in the Bible who let a frenzied mob rape his virgin daughters instead of some visiting angels. Nice guy. We should build a religion around a book with a story like that.

Thank you biblical scholar. I’m so glad you shared your views which have nothing to do with what Joshua wrote. Move over St. Jerome, Fathers of the Church, Doctors of the Church, papal encyclicals dealing with scriptural interpretation, we have someone greater than you as the final interpreter of Scripture, Troll Truthy!

I love this comment. My 5th grade english teacher used to say this quite often.
