Memo to Obama: You’ve Got a Problem.

It’s been amazing to watch White House Press Secretary Jay Carney dutifully take the podium day after day and deny that Obama has created a problem for himself by forcing Catholic individuals and institutions to subsidize abortifacient drugs, sterilizations and contraception.

Let me break it down for the President:

When over 90% of Catholic bishops have condemned your decision and promised not to obey it — you’ve got a problem.

When it’s not just Catholic faith leaders who have condemned your decision and promised not to obey it — you’ve got a problem.

When “CHURCH VOWS WAR ON OBAMA” is the top headline on Drudge — you’ve got a problem:

When about every news outlet (with the exception of some left-wing and mainstream cable news outlets) are saying the same thing as Drudge — you’ve got a problem.

When your top liberal Catholic apologist, Doug Kmiec, withdraws his support of you — you’ve got a problem.

When, for that matter, practically every notable Catholic who has ever supported you withdraws their support of you — you’ve got a problem.

When your talking points are being picked apart as fast as you can re-issue them — you’ve got a problem.

When barely anyone even bothers with responding to your talking points — you’ve got a problem.

When the Catholic nun who helped you pass Obamacare tells you this needs to be fixed — you’ve got a problem.

When 154 members of the U.S. House of Representatives send a letter to your administration warning it to reverse course — you’ve got a problem.

When you’ve got U.S. Senators practically tripping over themselves to have the first bill up for a vote to reverse your decision — you’ve got a problem.

And when Vice President Joe Biden realizes there’s nothing he can say to excuse this decision — then, Mr. President, you’ve really got a problem.

…. or, you know, maybe you’re right. Maybe there’s no problem here.

So how about we just wait until November and see what happens then?

Bill: My sister-in-law calls them “vague homilies about vagueness”.

As Catholics, we must remain united in the fight to support the unborn. Most Catholics DO NOT suppport the killing of an innocent baby. This information is so far from the truth–this is a LIE which is spreding in the media. I will vote according to my Catholic values. If Obama continues with this madness; he will fail in the end.

I am AMAZED that people want to TAKE AWAY another person’s choice in the name of “religious liberty”. Since when does freedom of religion mean YOU have a right to COERCE others to follow what YOU preach. Women now have the right to plan their pregnancies, and the VAST MAJORITY of Catholic women avail themselves of that right.

You’ll be hard pressed to turn this into an election issue.

The word Catholic means “all-embracing” or “all-encompassing.” Simply put, it means universal, the only one. Everyone is a Catholic, they just might not know it (or accept it) yet. Those who we can’t persuade, we will bring into the fold with varying degrees of force. Much like a good, loving parent will not acquiesce to their child’s every want, but will show “tough love” to get them to behave properly. The child will thank them for it later. A good Catholic who has been shown the error of their ways is always thankful for their new knowledge of the Church’s supreme authority, and always regrets their past hedonistic lifestyle. A false Catholic flaunts their sin with pride.

You want to buy your own birth control, then fine. Buy your own birth control. I shouldn’t have to pay for YOUR birth control. That’s what this is about. FORCING Catholic institution to pay for YOUR birth control. You don’t have a right to make ME or any other Catholic pay for your birth control. If some Catholic women wants to go against her Church’s teaching and buy her own birth control, fine. Just don’t ask those of us who do follow the Church’s teaching to pay for it. Simple as that. That’s the issue. I’m not sure why this is so hard for people like you to grasp. We’re not saying contraception should be outlawed. We’re saying those of us that have religious objections to it shouldn’t have to pay for it. Pay for your own BC if you want it that badly.

So cuttothechase, its OK with you if employees of Catholic services obtain contraceptives using the $$$ they get in their paychecks, but NOT ok if they obtain them using the health insurance they earn as part of their employment. Seems like you’re splitting hairs over whether the funds are coming from the church’s left or right pocket.

Hush! Let him go down in flames! Then we can vote for a phoenix like Santorum. We need Obama to be this obviously radical so that Romney will look barely moderate in comparison. Then the electable moderate will be Santorum.

  6. Bill says:

Most Catholic homilies are of the “God loves you now go love others” variety.
