Obama Just Injected Himself in to the Late-term Abortion Debate (Push Back!)

gosnellobamaThe U.S. House of Representatives is about to take a historic vote today on ending abortion for unborn children over 20 weeks old (H.R. 1797, the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act”).

The bill has been sponsored in large part in reaction to the horrors of the Gosnell abortion clinic.

President Obama has avoided talking about the Gosnell massacre, even though the President is on record supporting every possible abortion, including the type of late-term abortions Gosnell committed. When asked questions about the Gosnell revelations, President Obama and his press secretary always chose to dodge them rather than answer.

Now, however, Obama has chosen to inject himself in to this national debate:

The President has issued a Statement of Administration Policy indicating his advisors would recommend that he veto the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act if it were presented for his signature.  The statement reads:

The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 1797, which would unacceptably restrict women’s health and reproductive rights and is an assault on a woman’s right to choose. Women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care, and Government should not inject itself into decisions best made between a woman and her doctor.

Forty years ago, the Supreme Court affirmed a woman’s constitutional right to privacy, including the right to choose. This bill is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and shows contempt for women’s health and rights, the role doctors play in their patients’ health care decisions, and the Constitution. The Administration is continuing its efforts to reduce unintended pregnancies, expand access to contraception, support maternal and child health, and minimize the need for abortion. At the same time, the Administration is committed to the protection of women’s health and reproductive freedom and to supporting women and families in the choices they make.

If the President were presented with this legislation, his senior advisors would recommend that he veto this bill.

Okay, media, it’s time to start asking the President questions — the same type of questions I urged them last week to ask top House Democrat Nancy Pelosi.

Here’s a really basic first question: “Does the President of the United States disagree with the consensus of the medical and scientific community that unborn babies older than 20 weeks feel pain?”

On social media, CatholicVote, myself and others are tweeting under the hashtag #TheyFeelPain to draw attention to the pain unborn babies over 20 weeks old experience. Please do everything you can to raise the volume on this issue today as we urge the House of Representatives to pass this bill. Spread and share the pro-life messages being sent by pro-life groups and politicians, push back against the lies and distortions being spread by pro-abortion groups and politicians.

And, most importantly, try to contact reporters and those in the media and demand they cover this national news story.

And if you have not yet contacted your Congressman or Congresswoman about supporting HR #1797, please do so right away!

  1. Bill Sr. says:

” and Government should not inject itself into decisions best made between a woman and her doctor. ”
Using this logic it would seem the advisers should also agree that the Government should not inject itself into decisions best made between faithful believers and their faith. As this “freedom” existed long before Roe vs Wade gave women the right to kill their babies.

  2. Read, “Sing a Little Louder,” pamphlet about holocaust victims in train cars on their way to extermination camps who screamed for help as they went through German towns. They were told to sing a little louder in their churches to drown out the screams. The unborn is screaming, reaching from the womb, “will you not listen?”

The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 1797, which would unacceptably restrict women’s health [how does a 20-week abortion ban restrict "women's health"?] and reproductive rights [i.e., abortion] and is an assault on a woman’s right to choose [an abortion]. Women should be able to make their own choices [abortion] about their bodies [since when does a woman's body have four legs, four feet, four arms, four hands, four eyes, four ears, two hearts, and is potentially hermaphroditic?] and their health care [abortion is not "health care"], and Government should not inject itself into decisions best made between a woman and her doctor [but it's okay for the IRS to violate HIPAA and otherwise inject itself into the doctor-patient relationship in its implementation of ObamaCare].

Forty years [almost 60 million dead babies] ago, the Supreme Court affirmed [created] a woman’s constitutional right to privacy [the only remaining right to privacy, what with all the wiretapping, spying, e-mail reading, Internet traffic snooping, global positioning, financial transaction monitoring by the NSA, FBI, DHS, CIA, etc., etc.], including the right to choose [an abortion]. This bill is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and shows contempt for women’s health [abortion is healthy?] and rights, the role doctors [abortionists] play in their patients’ health care decisions [having abortions], and the Constitution [LOL]. The Administration is continuing its efforts to reduce unintended pregnancies [i.e., abortion] expand access to contraception [by dismantling religious liberty and forcing unwilling taxpayers to cover the cost of artificial birth control], support maternal and child health [but it would be cheaper to just pay for everyone's abortions], and minimize the need for abortion [because anyone who "needs" one, got one already]. At the same time, the Administration is committed to the protection of women’s health [abortion] and reproductive freedom [abortion and abortion] and to supporting women and families in the choices they make [to abort their children, because support for abortion and not judging others is what matters most].

If the President were presented with this legislation, his senior advisors [Planned Parenthood] would recommend that he veto this bill [because late-term abortions are lucrative and the fires of Moloch will not tolerate even scintilla of reduction in the human suffering that is abortion].

Is there no longer any feeling for pain in obamas heart. These babies are suffering undeserved pain. Has he no heart? What if his own daughter were in terrible pain ? How would he feel? Please pass this bill 1797 to reduce the terrible pains of abortion.
