In his remarks at a recent audience, Pope Francis encouraged the faithful to become humble in the service of others, and in so doing to imitate the Christ child, who is God humbling himself to become man.
Pope Francis also urges us to remember the poor in a special way this Christmas:
By leaving a spare place at the dinner table on the Vigil of Christmas, we remember the poor, the hungry, people who are alone, the homeless, the marginalized, the war weary, and especially children! Jesus, the Son of God made Man is present in all of them. Let us open our hearts in order that they may share in our joy.
