If damage done to peoples lives were the measure, Barney Frank should be in the same place in society as Bernie Madoff. I’m just thankful that he does not intend to seek re-election and will not continue the damage he has been doing to this country.

Dustin D: Sadly, your ability to research failed you since it is common knowledge that Frank TESTIFIED to congress about Freddie and Fannie being stable in 2003, and pushed for more housing initiatives. Here’s a video that took ONE google search to find when I researched:

Here is Frank’s Wikipedia page (no, Wikipedia alone is not infallible, but you can research the claims it makes very easily), showing many of his connections to Fredie and Fannie:

There is no doubt you did absolutely no research at all on this matter, or you simply have no idea how to get simple, readily available information. It looks like your post appears to be no more than a personal, politically motivated smear attack.

You make a striking statement about Barney Frank being a “central figure” in the housing bubble and collapse, but the article you link to says nothing of the sort. I decided to research your statement, and found it to be completely false. Barney Frank’s only connection to Freddie Mac and the housing bubble is that he supported some affordable housing initiatives. It seems that Newt Gingrich is much more connected to the housing bubble and collapse as he was a paid consultant of these companies advising them how to skirt regulation and manipulate the political process for their own benefit. The statement against Barney Frank appears to be little more than a personal, politically motivated smear attack.
