Senator Ben Nelson won’t seek reelection in 2012

Breaking news from the heartland: The man behind the Cornhusker Kickback is calling it quits. Sen. Ben Nelson, D-NE, won’t be running for re-election next year, according to Politico.

Ben Nelson betrayed the pro-life cause to get a more generous Medicaid reimbursement — worth $45 million over 10 years — in exchange for his vote for Obamacare. (In the end, that provision was removed and he still voted for Obamacare.)

Good riddance to a man who betrayed his principles.

There is a great candidate vying for that Senate seat. Here’s my interview with Republican Don Stenberg.
