HEALTH CARE BILL DEAD  There are now three Republicans who have declared they are not voting for the most recent Obamacare repeal. Barring a miracle, the replacement of Obamcare is effectively dead for a year. http://cvote.it/2hv8XnD

HOUSE VOTE ON LATE-TERM  House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) will host a press conference today to detail when the House will vote on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would make abortions illegal after 20 weeks. http://cvote.it/2htK3Vn

THE SUCCEED ACT  A group of Republican senators offered what they call a conservative alternative to the DREAM Act. It would provide a path to citizenship after 15 years for those who entered the country illegally as minors. But it would not allow them to sponsor family members to the United States. http://cvote.it/2htccMf

ALABAMA SENATE RACE  The Senate GOP primary in Alabama is serving as a proxy for conservative voters’ opinion on Congress. That means, Sen. Luther Strange, R-AL, looks headed toward defeat against the popular religious conservative Roy Moore, who once served as State Supreme Court Justice. http://cvote.it/2hs3IVG

SURROGACY TO SCOTUS  Catholics and pro-life activists have long been against surrogacy. Here’s a great article against surrogacy written by a former board member of the National Organization of Women. http://cvote.it/2hrOOP1

DOWN SYNDROME  A bill in Ohio would make it illegal to abort babies because they have Down Syndrome. http://cvote.it/2huef2l

“GENDER” IDENTITY  Our effort to make men and women interchangeable has only increased the loneliness of American life. And the decline of marriage has lead to a drop in the amount of sex. http://cvote.it/2htLfYR

CHURCH SHOOTING  A madman stormed a Tennessee church with a gun. He murdered a mother of two children, and he wounded six others. Perhaps the media gave it little attention because the criminal was a Sudanese immigrant. http://cvote.it/2hsW7WM

CATHOLIC COLLEGE  Christendom College started with just five teachers and a handful to students. Now they are celebrating their 40th anniversary. http://cvote.it/2ht5gPg

VATICAN  The Vatican responds to allegations that ex-auditor was ousted. http://cvote.it/2ht0DEy

SAINT OF THE DAY  Blessed Paul VI – http://cvote.it/dailysaint

DAILY MASS READINGS  “Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.” (Ps 122:1) –  http://cvote.it/Daily-Readings

PATRIOTISM  Just over 40 years ago, two men tried to burn the American flag in the outfield at Dodger Stadium. But Rick Monday came to the rescue.  http://cvote.it/2hsto4t
