CV LOOP: Trump to spare ‘dreamers’ from deportation



IMMIGRATION // The Trump administration plans to consider almost all illegal immigrants subject to deportation, but he will leave Obama’s protections in place for immigrants known as “dreamers” who entered the country illegally as children.

SUPREME COURT // Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY, predicts Neil Gorsuch will be confirmed to the Supreme Court. “Ultimately, yeah, I believe he will be” confirmed, she told New York news channel NY1. Gillbrand, who is believed to be considering a 2020 presidential run, calls Gorsuch an “ultra-right-wing conservative.”

ANTI-SEMITISM // After a series of threats at Jewish community centers, President Donald Trump condemned anti-Semitism. “I will tell you that anti-Semitism is horrible, and it’s going to stop and it has to stop.” 

ABORTION // A federal judge blocks Texas from defunding Planned Parenthood.

WEDNESDAY WORD // Deep state – A  state within a state, which apparently exerts influence and control over public policy, regardless of which political party controls the country’s democratic institutions.

ENVIRONMENT // President Trump is planning to issue executive orders this week to begin rolling back the centerpiece of President Obama’s climate change agenda with several other regulations.

ABORTION // Gov. Terry McAuliffe, D-VA, vetoes bill that would defund Planned Parenthood. (McAuliffe claims to be Catholic.)

HERO // Ex-CIA analyst Tim Ballard is now a sex-trade investigator — and he just cracked a major ring in Haiti that liberated 29 young women and children.

FRANCE // Is France the next country to have an election upset? Marine Le Pen is gaining in the French polls. 

LGBT // Justice Department officials plan to issue new guidance on protections for transgender students that will effectively reverse Obama-era recommendations and ensure those issues are decided at the state level going forward.
