He also tweeted Thursday: “This is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!
Trump says he ‘respects’ the decision to appoint a special counsel, but he regarded the media attacks as a ‘witch hunt.’ Regarding the allegations on a connection between Russia and his campaign, Trump said: “There was no collusion, and everybody — even my enemies have said there is no collusion.”
On Wednesday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel to “oversee the previously-confirmed FBI investigation of Russian government efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election and related matters.”
