General Eisenhower asked for God’s help in liberating Europe


The recent death of Senator Frank Lautenberg called attention to the fact that there are no longer any  World War II veterans serving in the United States Senate. (There are two remaining WWII vets serving in the House.)

With about 700 World War II veterans dying every day, let us never forget their sacrifice.

Here is General Eisenhower’s D-Day Proclamation issued on this in 1944:

    I recently came across one of my notes on politics, that Eisenhower and JFK have led all other Presidents in the number of Catholic votes. JFK is self-explanatory. But Eisenhower, how or why did he receive such a vote? Was there one act that ingratiated him to the Catholic community? Why?
