Kids say the darndest things

This morning I watched this heartwarming story of the second smallest preemie to survive in the U.S. with my own one-year old sitting on my lap.  When born, Melinda Star Guido weighed a mere 9.5 ounces – less than a can of coke. Upon seeing the footage of the impossibly tiny, Melinda, taken shortly after she was born 22 weeks prematurely, my MariaVictoria took her thumb out of her mouth, pointed at my laptop screen and announced: “Baby!”

Yes, out of the mouths of babes.

We all start out pro-life.  Only the selfishness and cynicism of “modern” adults can deny what even a one-year child knows to be true.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!

Rachel, just want to thank you for this wonderful post and let you know that this little one’s story is being carried today on our local evening news–here in the heart of ultra-liberal, greater San Francisco Bay area California! I’m not sure if the so-called (and unfortunately prevailing) “pro-choice” audience will see the disconnect between their support of abortion and the miracle of this little one’s life, but we can pray they do. Indeed, out of the mouths of babes…

Great observation from one baby to another. Just noting that the fluid ounces (measuring volumn) marked on containers of liquid is unlike the ounces in weight that babies would be measured by – yea, I know – confusing, but there it is.
So little 9 ounce premee is basicly little more than half a pound – way tiny and I am sure an awesome creation to behold.
