SENATE SCANDAL  Democrats turned on Sen. Al Franken, D-MN, after a Los Angeles TV and radio host accused him of kissing and groping her during a USO tour in 2006. A photo of him groping her while she was sleeping caused a major uproar on social media. Franken apologized. “There’s no excuse.” http://cvote.it/2mzkNPw

SENATE SCANDAL  Nate Silver: With the Al Franken scandal, Democrats had a chance to take the high ground by kicking him to the curb and calling on him to resign. “[T]hey could help to establish a precedent wherein severe instances of sexual harassment warrant resignation… Instead, Democrats basically punted on the question.” http://cvote.it/2mzrlxF

SENATE SCANDAL  The White House isn’t weighing in on Roy Moore. “The president believes that these allegations are troubling and should be taken seriously, and he thinks that the people of Alabama should make the decision on who their next senator should be,” said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders. http://cvote.it/2mzUtVh

CORRUPTION  A judge declares a mistrial in the corruption case of Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ, after a jury was deadlocked on the counts of the indictment. One juror told reporters the jury was deadlocked 10-2, with 10 favoring acquittal. http://cvote.it/2mzU5Gw

TAX REFORM  The Republican-led House passes tax reform bill 227-205, putting pressure on the Senate, which is working on its own version of a tax reform bill. http://cvote.it/2mzIx67

FREE SPEECH?  The ACLU supports the freedom of speech for Nazis, the freedom of speech for communists, but they won’t touch the freedom of speech for pro-life pregnancy centers because abortion is a sacrosanct rite to these people. And one pro-life activist wasn’t holding back. http://cvote.it/2mzUQzm
