POPE: ‘GREAT ACCUSER’ SEEKS TO SCANDALIZE  In his morning homily, Pope Francis said that Satan tries to uncover bishops’ sin in order to cause scandal. “This is good to remember, in these times in which it seems that the Great Accuser has been unchained and is attacking bishops. True, we are all sinners, we bishops. He tries to uncover the sins, so they are visible, in order to scandalize the people,” said Pope Francis. READ
WUERL TO DISCUSS RESIGNATION WITH POPE  Cardinal Wuerl sent a letter to priests that he will meet soon with Pope Francis to discuss resigning from his current post of Archbishop of Washington. “I intend, in the very near future, to go to Rome to meet with our Holy Father about the resignation I presented nearly three years ago, November 12, 2015.” READ
DiNARDO TO VISIT POPE   The Holy Father will meet with Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, president of the U.S. Bishops, to discuss the sex abuse scandal in the United States. Cardinal DiNardo had mentioned in an August 27 letter that he requested a meeting with Pope Francis. READ
SENATE TO WORK OCTOBER   The Senate is not normally in session in the month before a Congressional election, But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the chamber is staying open in order to move forward on President Trump’s judicial nominations. Speaking about the Senate elections, McConnell said: “I hope when the smoke clears we will still have a majority in the Senate.” READ
SENATE OBSTRUCTIONISM   President Trump slammed Senate Democrats for their delay tactics on key judicial and executive branch posts. Senate Democrats no longer have a filibuster to block votes, but they can demand a full 30 hours of Senate floor debate on each nomination — which they have done 112 times so far. “Chuck Schumer is holding up 320 appointments (Ambassadors, Executives, etc.) of great people who have left jobs and given up so much in order to come into Government. Schumer and the Democrats continue to OBSTRUCT!”  READ
SUICIDE AND TRANSGENDERISM   51% of adolescent females who “transition” to the opposite sex tried committing suicide, according to a new study published in Pediatrics journal. READ
+CUPICH: BIGGER AGENDA   Seminarians of the Archdiocese of Chicago said that Cardinal Cupich talked to the men studying to be priests about the current scandal and said: “We have a bigger agenda than to be distracted by all of this.” READ
KENTUCKY WANTS TO INVESTIGATE CHURCH   The attorney general of Kentucky wants to form a statewide grand jury to investigate Catholic dioceses in the state like had been done in Pennsylvania. READ
