FEDS: WE’RE DONE WITH BATHROOMS  The Department of Education announced that they would no longer investigate local schools over complaints of “discrimination” from transgender students over bathroom policies. “Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, not gender identity,” said Liz Hill, a spokeswoman for the Department of Education. http://cvote.it/2En05uH

IMMIGRATION DEBATE BEGINS  The Senate voted to begin an open-ended debate on immigration that both parties claim will end with a measure that can win 60 votes and get through the House. Lawmakers are working under a March 5 deadline, when the court-challenged DACA program expires. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced his support for a bill that will be introduced by a group of Republican senators that mirrors the Trump administration’s immigration reform framework. http://cvote.it/2EpaJBm

LGBT VS FREE SPEECH?  The ACLU argues that the right to free speech must be curbed to make transgender people more comfortable. And that we are the ones who need to change. Women are really fascinating and interesting and should get their own stories.” http://cvote.it/2EqysRi

CUPICH SEMINARS  Cardinal Cupich last week called Pope Francis’ teaching in Amoris Laetitia “revolutionary.” Now the Chicago Archbishop is holding three seminars across the country to instruct 15-20 bishops on the Pope’s controversial 2016 apostolic exhortation. One of the theologians invited to the seminar is Dr. Kate Ward, who has expressed support for same-sex marriages and said the Church should re-evaluate its “position” on artificial birth control. http://cvote.it/2Em8Llc

ROGUE MEMBER OF PONTIFICAL ACADEMY?  Rabbi Dr. Fishel Szalejen serves on the Pontifical Academy for Life. And while he condemned abortion on demand, he nonetheless he made apologies for abortion in so-called ‘tough cases.’ In fact, Dr. Szajen even asserted that Scripture justifies abortion in certain rare cases. http://cvote.it/2EnudpO
