POPE REPLACES MARRIAGE INSTITUTE  Pope Francis announced that he was replacing the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family with an institute for “Marriage and Family Sciences.” The new institute will also be named for Pope John Paul II, but will try to make permanent the teaching of Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis’ controversial apostolic exhortation. READ

NORTH KOREA PUT ON NOTICE  “The United States has great strength and patience,” said President Trump at the U.N. “But if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.” Using a new nickname for North Korea’s dictator, Trump said: “Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.” READ

HEALTH CARE MOMENTUM  “I’ve got Alan Greenspan, Jeb Bush, and Steve Bannon. If you can do better than that, call me,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, about his bill to replace Obamacare. Meanwhile, former Senator Rick Santorum said that Rand Paul (the only Republican no vote so far) is “wrong on health care bill.” READ

LAWYER FOR LITTLE SISTERS  The Senate confirmed Noel Francisco to become Solicitor General of the United States. His job is to argue on behalf of the federal government before the Supreme Court. Francisco represented the Little Sisters of the Poor in their fight against Obamacare’s contraception mandate. READ

CATHOLICS AND TRUMP  John Klink has served on numerous Vatican delegations to the United Nations. He also served as an adviser to Donald Trump on Catholic issues. He said that President Trump has so far lived up to his pro-life words. READ
