LOOP: Senate Democrats want to shutdown government over immigration

MARCH FOR LIFE  Hundreds of thousands of Americans will take to the streets of the nation’s capital to protest abortion today. Ahead of the March, Vice President Mike Pence met at the White House with pro-life activists from Students for Life of America. “You can see in this rising generation the truth is catching on. And I truly believe in this generation we will restore the sanctity of life to the center of American law once again,” said Pence. http://cvote.it/2EWFsBn

SHUTDOWN  The House passed a 4-week spending bill to avoid a shutdown of the government Saturday. The bill also included six years of funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program. But Democrats in the Senate filibustered the bill because it didn’t provide legal status for children of illegal immigrants. http://cvote.it/2EVkIdo

GOVERNMENT SCHOOLING  Insane: A public school in Northern Virginia had a school-wide assembly right before Christmas featuring transgender activist Amy Ellis Nutt. The speaker said sex change operations were normal, and she dismissed risks involved in such surgeries. http://cvote.it/2EV6fhs

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY  Great news: There’s a new department dedicated to religious freedom at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). “Laws protecting religious freedom and conscience rights are just empty words on paper if they aren’t enforced. No one should be forced to choose between helping sick people and living by one’s deepest moral or religious convictions,” said Roger Severino, Director of the Office for Civil Rights at HHS. http://cvote.it/2EWCYDb

MEDIA BIAS  Politico ran an article calling conscience protection “controversial.” Casey Mattox, an attorney specializing in religious liberty, totally destroyed their argument. “There is simply no historical ground upon which Politico can claim that protecting the right of medical professionals not to participate in abortion has been ‘controversial’ since Roe v. Wade,” said Mattox. http://cvote.it/2DuJJPp

TRUMP RETURNS TO PA  President Trump traveled to the Rust Belt to tout the great news on the unemployment and the stock market. He hailed the decision by Apple to invest $350 billion into the U.S. economy because of the newly-passed tax reform. “It hasn’t even been a month since I signed the bill; it’s turned out to be much bigger than we all thought,” said Trump. He also gave a shout out to Rick Saccone, who’s running for Congress in southwestern Pennsylvania. The special election is March 13. http://cvote.it/2EW6vN0

CATHOLICVOTE RADIO HOUR  Rep. Lou Barletta on the latest CVRH: “You can’t live up to your Catholic identity if you won’t defend life. Senator Casey has a 0% voting record for life. I cannot imagine myself being an elected official & choosing because of my Party to allow the brutal murders of the unborn.” http://cvote.it/2DuJ7cz
