TRUMP TARIFFS  President Trump defended his proposal to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum. And when the European Union suggested that they might retaliate, Trump threatened to tax European cars. But even Republicans who generally support the president expressed reluctance over the possible brewing trade war. “Tariffs on steel and aluminum are a tax hike the American people don’t need and can’t afford,” said Sen.
