CATHOLIC LEADERSHIP The student government at the Catholic University of America called on the university to block the top 200 porn sites. CUA’s president, John Garvey, not only agreed with the plan, he wrote an op-ed about the dangers of pornography. “No courtship is necessary. Your partner is always willing — and available — on your home or office computer, on your phone at the beach, in your car or in the library,” writes Garvey.  READ 
SAINT OF THE DAY  Saint Pedro de San José Betancur was a Secular Franciscan who founded a hospital, a shelter, and a school for the poor in Guatemala City. He also founded a religious congregation for men. Another congregation for women, inspired by his life, sprang up after his death. Saint Pedro supported his work by begging alms. READ
