The 10 Catholics who refused to protect newborn babies from infanticide

3

Yesterday, 44 Democrats voted to block legislation to protect newborn babies who survive an abortion.

Not a single Republican voted against the legislation. Even pro-abortion Susan Collins voted in favor of protecting these babies.

Included in the 44 Democrats who block the bill are 10 Senators who claim to be Catholic:

  • Maria Cantwell, D-WA
  • Dick Durbin, D-IL,
  • Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY
  • Tim Kaine, D-VA
  • Patrick Leahy, D-VT
  • Ed Markey, D-MA
  • Catherine Cortez Masto, D-NV
  • Bob Menendez, D-NJ
  • Patty Murray, D-WA
  • Jack Reed, D-RI

You can see the full list of how every Senator voted here. (Here’s a list of each Senator’s religious affiliation.)

Thankfully, Sen. Bob Casey, D-PA, and Joe Manchin, D-WV, voted yes.

If the other Catholic Democrats had joined with them, this legislation would have passed the Senate!

  1. I believe a Catholic excommunicates himself or herself and for a Bishop or Cardinal to excommunicate someone like Gov. CUOMO of NY would be to make a hero/martyr out of someone who does appear to WANT to be a “martyr for the cause” of a “woman’s reproductive rights”. WHO will protect the rights of the BABY, who is a different person than his birth mother — a PERSON with his or her own DNA!!!!!

Nonsense. Church penalties should be applied to such monstruous crimes. Gov. Cuomo a martyr? Come on! He is filth from the gutter and should be treated that way.

Would the bishops excommunicate catholic politicians if they voted for legislation allowing bishops to be killed?
